“Here, humor is mined… by exposing one’s inner workings and establishing
a connection with the audience. It is why so many New Yorkers flock
to The Moth. It is why The Moth was such a hit the past three years
at the Aspen Comedy Festival...
And it is why storytelling is catching on across the country.”
- The Washington Post
The Moth frequently travels outside New York City always on the quest to bring more true stories to even more people.
In 2006-2007 The Moth conducted its first national ten-city Story Tour, Out on a Limb: Stories from the Edge. Thousands nationwide heard unique stories from headliners and local characters including Margaret Cho, Dan Savage, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, a bank robber, President Clinton's former press secretary, a professional baton twirler and a roller derby star.
In March 2009 The Moth revisited The Perth International Arts Festival in Australia, and produced two sold-out shows.
The next out of town Moth event is on July 23 in Savannah.
